after more than 3 months (on and off) working on this - it's finally finished. the style is pretty incoherent, since it sort of developed with time, and some parts - especially the plants, are really rushed, because the file was huge and Illustrator wasn't cooperating anymore. i'm not quite sure if i like it. it was a real challenge for me to work with so many colours, so i'm not sure if i did o.k.
[edit] it would take me a lot of time (which i currently don't have) to personally thank each one who added this to their favourites or left a heartwarming comment, so - thank you all, i appreciate it. i really didn't expect so many people to like it.
твърде шарено и претрупано за моя вкус (снимката си е такава дe)... но си струва дори и само заради огромното количество труд, което вложих.
и на мен не ми се вярва, че най-накрая го завърших.
thank you very much.
i used a photo i took last May in Istanbul, though i left some stuff out and played around with the color scheme to achieve some harmony. nearly 3000 paths in all and no live-trace. it certainly isn't out of my head, since it's too colorful for my tastes - that's why i chose the picture - to challenge myself.
i took the reference photo last May in Istanbul. and it was really that chaotic and colorful, even i bit more than my picture shows. it was, like you said, something i had never seen before - a narrow stair-like street with lots of coffee shops, bars and little shops, so full of life. inspiring
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
